About Us
My name is Melanie Paral. Our farm is located 20 minutes east of Green Bay, WI. I live in the country on 240 acres of land in a brick farm house with my husband and 4 children. My youngest child is involved in 4-H she currently shows her dogs in obedience, showmanship, rally and agility. She showed Maxwell for the first time this year in obedience.
Our female Border collies name is Angel, she is red and white. She absolutely loves to go for rides in our car. She can work cattle and likes to round up the chickens. She is my shadow, but loves the whole family. In Febuary of 2011 she turned 8 and is now retired.
Our male named Dakota is black and white with a larger build. He now stays in the house with the rest of the crew, since his run in with the snow plow (foot surgery). He is within steps whenever the kids go outside. He loves to run along side them when they ride the 4 wheeler or go-cart. He is very calm and gentle. Dakota is available for stud service, please inquire via email.
We've kept a pup from Angel and Dakota's 2009 litter, her name is Jasmine. A wonderful Border Collie that has everything I wanted in a puppy! She is smart, obedient and a very loving dog. We hope to have her whelp her first litter winter of 2011-'12.
Our new stud Maxwell joined us in December of 2009. We have raised him since a pup. He is a gorgeous red merle tri. He has a sharp herding eye, however we sold our cattle in 2008 so he keeps himself busy herding the corgis! Maxwell is very comical, he loves to sneak toys that the other dogs have hidden and hide them in his "den" he's made in the sandbox! We are excited to see the colors of pups he will produce with Jasmine.

If I didn't have dogs.......
I could walk around safely barefoot in the dark;
My house could be carpeted instead of hardwood and vinyl;
All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture and cars would be free of dog hair;
When the doorbell rang, it wouldn't sound like the SPCA kennels;
When the doorbell rang, I could get to the door without four or five dog bodies who beat me there;
I could sit how I wanted to on the couch without taking into consideration where all the furbodies are going to sit;
I would not have strange presents under my tree....like dog bones and stuffed toys and have to answer to people why I wrap them;
I would not be on a first name basis with a vet;
Most used words in my vocabulary would not be: potty, outside, sit, down, come, stay, no, and leave it;
My house would not be cordoned off into zones with baby gates;
My purse would not contain things like poop pick up bags and dog treats;
I would no longer have to spell the words B-A-L-L and F-R-I-S-B-E-E;
I would not buy weird things to stuff into 'Kongs", or have to explain why I'm buying them, or what a "Kong" is;
I would not have as many leaves INSIDE my house as outside;
I would not look strangely at people who think having their ONE dog ties them down too much;
I would not have to answer the question "Why do you have so many dogs?" from people who never have the joy in their life of knowing they are loved unconditionally by something as close to an angel as they will ever get. Who else has a friend who considers you the MOST important thing in the whole wide world all the time.
